22nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron
The 22nd AES at Sewart AFB, Smyrna TN, was part of
the 1st Aeromedical evacuation group out of Pope AFB. Also at Pope was our
sister Squadron the 21st AES. I was a Medic with the 22nd from August 1961 to
January 1965. We help at the Base Hospital when not on training manuvers at
various "War Games" throughout the USA. The history of the Squadron I do not
have, only what I participated in while stationed at Sewart AFB. I'll try to
locate the patch and get a scanned image to you.
